Mental Endurance for Endurance Athletes

If you are concerned about mental toughness during endurance sports, you may want to read the online article Head Over Heals - Mental Floss for Endurance Athletes (McGee, 2014).  The author has developed a structure he calls “The Essential Five Components of Mental Training”.  These are:
  1. Strategy
  2. Focus
  3. Anxiety and Relaxation
  4. Visualization/Mental Imagery
  5. Dealing with the sensations of endurance sport effort
